WTF? I thought i posted something?WTF'nF?

anyway.

PETE: I'll be quoting old stuff from my earlier posts and if you find something you can say, please do so.
--------------------------------------------------
"we can try churning up a story, but if you don't like it it'll just crap up again. we haven't had time to even try a short story.... cos nothing is happening. Lets do a graphical version of our Star Wars adventures!! i bet I sound like an ass right now. so.... comments is on? pete?"

options:
"1) keep the page as it is. get a comic going.
2) revamp the page a little, insert some nice blogging software, which then allows us to co-blog/comment each comic and the general fate of my money.
a) via manual updates... can be done... but... sigh.
c) blogger. would prefer to keep all data on our site, so if it goes down it all goes down. at least no blogger error messages.
f) movable type. the most powerful free blogging software in the world. have never been able to install it. but comments system can be eitehr page load or popup! whee! so fun! so flexible! so damn hard to install!
(i) in regards to commenting systems. I agree that comments (user comments) would be a fun thing to have. however, would prefer a pop up system in which the user need not load the whole comments page. at the same time, would also prefer to keep the comments on our own server, which means not like enetation. or yaccs.

also:
would you all prefer the blogs to appear in a "window" on the page itself (i.e. it's own scrollable frame) or would it be better to have the whole page contain the whole blog and thus get them to scroll down from there?
compare:
http://korgath.blogspot.com
or
http://anodemud.diaryland.com

some things to add... i'm not sure how to make it such that when you go back in time to an older comic, you get the older comic's news too. i don't believe blogs can do that... not that i know of. which kinda leaves it to manual, which is painful. unless you all don't mind comment to current news... and then they read the old news at their own leisure, while not attached to the comic page."

"i think yeah, we use it for comic related rants, or any kinda discussion that comes up. quick shots. long shots. stuff like that. you all still keep your own blog.

you know... try to play off each other and in turn make me sound interesting."

--------------------------------------------
BASICALLY.......

1) i guess we use movable type
2) with a pop up comments system
3) wwl seems to prefer inline blog. you?
4) comic post with blog a la megatokyo seems impossible unless we do manual updating.
5) instead we can have something like keenspot. only the front page has all the crap

that ok?

also, the question i asked today, wwwl didn't answer:
Do you have any fave legend, story, myth blah blah which you'd like to tell in current day or steampunk or whatever age? you know, cliche, but mix and match around? reading a new genre of novel: Technoir.haha....

yeah i think that's it.

7 people going for movie book book book!!!!

Uh... well... must check... My understudy is taking leave that day because he has Ops Duty the next day.

testing out blog. will finalise more details.

i think yeah, we use it for comic related rants, or any kinda discussion that comes up. quick shots. long shots. stuff like that. you all still keep your own blog.

you know... try to play off each other and in turn make me sound interesting.

comic comic comic do not omit comic.

also, can we book xmen tickets like NOW??? and matrix TOO??? PLEASE? Get the numbers by tomorrow evening and I'll settle the place time and date. i think opening day... a bit hard liao.

sigh. genki genki.

will try out the anodemud.

hmz hmz. erm. options?

1) keep the page as it is. get a comic going.
2) revamp the page a little, insert some nice blogging software, which then allows us to co-blog/comment each comic and the general fate of my money.
a) via manual updates... can be done... but... sigh.
b) am trying to wrestle with postnuke. this piece of software is like me trying to figure out what i just shit out. which reminds, wrestlemania!!!!!
c) blogger. would prefer to keep all data on our site, so if it goes down it all goes down. at least no blogger error messages.
d) grey matter. this is a nice blogging software based on perl. the commenting system is nonpop-up, basically that means an entire page will load up with just the "rant/article" and all the comments below. easy to install tho. VERY EASY.
e) nucleus. rather easy to install. uses mySQL. erm... lotsa nice little config options, and... comments system same as grey matter.
f) movable type. the most powerful free blogging software in the world. have never been able to install it. but comments system can be eitehr page load or popup! whee! so fun! so flexible! so damn hard to install!
(i) in regards to commenting systems. I agree that comments (user comments) would be a fun thing to have. however, would prefer a pop up system in which the user need not load the whole comments page. at the same time, would also prefer to keep the comments on our own server, which means not like enetation. or yaccs.

or

some things to add... i'm not sure how to make it such that when you go back in time to an older comic, you get the older comic's news too. i don't believe blogs can do that... not that i know of. which is why i'm dabbling with post nuke, but it might not seem possible either. which kinda leaves it to manual, which is painful. unless you all don't mind comment to current news... and then they read the old news at their own leisure, while not attached to the comic page.

i'm checking out a few more blogs with nice pop up blogs... will see how things go.

err... yeah. help out guys?

and... hmz. i'll be emailing the guys at different host soon. that okay? second cheapest plan it is.

   Friday, April 25, 2003
am on sudden new webcomic craze. reading a few pieces of shite here and there, but anyway, here's the list of the unusual suspects. and some you already know but i'm pushing again.

of course,
Elf Only Inn. it's really like reading those IRC archives.
and stupidly,
New adventures of Bobbin which isn't related to
Bobbins or
Scary Go Round
and there's Pander

now for those you guys don't really read. like...
Combustible Orange Super Demolition Christ anybody? Ah, all in good humour I hop.
Erm... Entropy Kid. Not top notch stuff from what I've read. Erm. Ok. It sucks. I'm so glad we don't suck like it does. Art gets better towards the end (it's only, whaT? 2 mnths old? But... aiyoh. kena cheated by the look of the newest strip. and the one before that.

and....
What can I say? Nodwick really rules!
The Norm I miss these guys.

erm.. getting lazy.

so i'm pumping MacHall, Megatokyo, Makeshift Miracle (but he's moving house so no updates for the moment), Small Stories (once he comes back to draw).

and... last but REALLY NOT LEASTEST.

Return to Sender!! It's back!! slowly!!! Ah... not as great as Shay or Anju tho.
and...
Nowhere Girl This one struck a nerve. HARD. It's good stuff, please check it out. Very well designed site too.

Pete: There's a mite of homoeroticm, not like it should matter.

But it's really damn good.

PROOF:

I... I... yeah. I.

direcow is doing testing. and nothing is doing also cos no story to do nothing with. not that i expect you to draw with your workload now, but, you know, iron out some kinks out of any possible idea now, rather than later. moving don't really mean moving on the outside, but the wheels of cogitation... not even moving as a whole. ah well. and seriously, to bring direcow into the picture. tsk tsk.

we can try churning up a story, but if you don't like it it'll just crap up again. we haven't had time to even try a short story.... cos nothing is happening. Lets do a graphical version of our Star Wars adventures!!

i bet I sound like an ass right now.

so.... comments is on? pete?

and it's complainin'.

hmz. so... labour day weekend is out. ok. :/

   Thursday, April 24, 2003
should be cool with me... yeah.

how about labour day too? thursday+friday. maybe sat morning, but sam finishes her 'xams that day. gotta find outta time.

and pete: in the writing groove again?

anybody realise 3-13 is not moving?

am playing around with postnuke and phpnuke... and finding a good comic mod for it... so everything will be easy peasy. I hope. At least it can be a co-blog of sorts. I hope.

Cos so far I haven't found an elegant solution for comiccing and blogging at the same time... unless you all don't mind not having commenting on the blogs? If so, then I can proceed and not worry about postnuke and phpnuke. Guys?

Trussk. Trandoshan Scout.

In-character: You know how we T'doshok are meant to consume each other when young? I couldn't. Where others had the instinct of fighting and killing, mine was to run. It was unnatural, it was close to impossible, but I was proof of the reality. To this day, I'm unable to explain it. My innate combat skills are all intact. My violent streak is legendary. But when combat's involved, when pressures arise, I run.

Don't ask me why.

I don't run blindly, though. My actions all serve a purpose. I take pleasure in running, just like a typical T'doshok would take in battle. This passion for speed gave me a desire to work with other forms of transportation. From an early age, I revelled in piloting old junkheaps for traders and the like. But I craved more, craved the sensations of sitting in the cockpit of a starfighter. When the Imperials and the others of my kind rejected me, I defected and discovered the Rebel Alliance. It was an uphill task to convince them of my good intentions, for T'doshok were treated with much fear and suspicion.

I tried my best anyway, but when the rejection of some became too much to take, I ran.

I'm glad it's over. But i'm not sure if it is. I'm not sure what's going on, but seriously, if anything is, do tell us. ok?

don't go off contemplating suicide or threatening to, cos I know you won't until the point you yourself start believing in it, and I'm not sure when that'll be. It's not as if I know what you do with every waking moment, and we all have many disparate circles of friends. usually I don't know what's bubbling, except for the very basic essence of it. And sometimes I can't totally be sure.

hmzah.

trandoshans. famed bounty hunters.usually. ruthless, hence their reptiliod appearence (cos if you realise George Lucas REALLY sticks to cliches). hmz... basically, ruthless. that's a basic trait of a trandoshan. It's like in some tribes all the males are either lithe, atheletic, vicious hunters, and those who aren't are killed or are castrated. or something. Point is, to see that we have a cowardly trandoshan on our hands when we expected one of your ilk to go in guns blazing was kinda weird. Especially with non combat types like yours truly or wwl or the dashing young man. Sure, we have a mad duron (duros?) and since you're basically there as the "pilot" we shouldn't have expected another fighter, but... a trandoshan running away.. is like Data laughing, if I may draw some sort of weird analgoy i have no real understanding of.

However, things that go against preconceptions and cliches DO occur, and in this case I bet it did. All we need to know is your motivation (like why keep saving your ass) instead of accepting it verbatim. It helps.

I'm an antique dealer with no combat stats (not really)... so... it kinda falls in. Kel Dor antique dealer, born into riches, (noble by birth and by money, not by... relation to the grand high poobah), but still a freshie, and sent out into the world to find talon karrde and learn what real antique dealing is like. Sheltered life, blah blah blah... cliche cliche... you get the idea. Tries to be gung ho sometimes but understands jack schitt about combat or flying. Joined the rebels cos I happened to walk into them on a mission. Don't ask.

Thanks for the SMS, Wai. I appreciate it.

RPG: You seemed pretty pissed about the "cowardly Trandoshan" I portrayed. Any particular reason?

http://vicbond007.kaytwo.com/home.html

go and download cowboy bebeop 007 y'all. cos that's kinda what your pic reminds me of. And your method of doing neon letters.... I dunno, but it's very you. That and the crooked light thingy.

for the blogging system: what I'm saying is that we can continue to use blogspot for our current chats, but let's use something else not dependent on them for officiall viewage. BUT! We can still use blogger if you prefer, and we can use the new software for both too.

   Monday, April 14, 2003
oh, for me it'll be pure ignorance. Morpheus? god of grecian dreams? Wow, ok.

I'm looking at
a) grey matter
b) nucleus

for our blog. don't think we can totally trust blogger. at least, if blogger is down it won't affect us, and if we are down, who cares anyway?

(a) is cgi based, www.noahgrey.com/greysoft
(b) is mySQL based... which makes it more "expensive" www.nucleuscms.com

BUT HEY! Nucleus has a new ver! whee!!!!!

both blogging things have comment systems, but comments things appear on the page itself: i.e. it won't pop up, it will instead create a new page where the whole list of comments blah blah blah. check my site if you're not sure.

yeah.

www.sketchup.com

anybody has money to spare?

Actually, I was thinking Morpheus, Greek God of sleep and dreams Morpheus.

Funny how we all come up with different things.

And uh... I don't think Wai's going to draw wrestling people.

ok. he's a guy. maybe...24? has hair, a face, body. a little gangly, but not fit per se. rather... a couch potato with high metabolism. erm.... he likes to read fantasy novels, and is a huge naked mideon mark (ok joking) He's a huge... (insert wrestler here) mark or something. maybe he hates wrestling, but loves the gilmore girls. net's quite a bit, computing involves rpgs. reads fanstasy like david gemmell and gaiman. and some hardcore fiction like salman rushdie. stays up late cos of gaming, reading, netting or tv. is a loner otherwise.

i'd go into details, but that's gonna tighten the belt around your creativity. this is only a GUIDELINE.

which idea are we following?

1, 2 or 3?

one more thing... if you can't, you know, get into the vibe of the idea... then let's not move on with it and find something else. cos all in all you're the one that's going to be drawing this and having to face those damned characters day in day out... so... yeah. you get what i mean.

   Saturday, April 12, 2003
erm... the points are divided into yours, then pete's than yours again, more or less in that order.

well, if you can't stand years of sobriety, then why add to it with 6 weeks worth?

well, i guess we did manage to get a gay into the story. lucky you.

go and watch the new matrix trailer. it'll make you feel better.

i wonder how touched by an angel can truly be depressing. And if you've read HERO (or dial H for Hero) you'll know what I'm getting at, for inasmuch (again!) as you might want to help some one, how much do they want to be helped anyway? anyway i don't watch touched by an angel so I don't think it'll influence anything.

ah, blame it on cover...

1) Stop acting like an idiot.

2) Ah... vents. I fart a lot, does that count? Also, I do stupid things.

3) Wai: Let the best judge of what makes a good bf be the gf herself. You putting pressure unto yourself for betterment when she fell in love with you exactly the way you are is really kinda odd. In the end you might end up another monster she doesn't recognise. At least, being the monster she knows, she can soothe the savage beast. That's also not to say you never have to seek self-improvement.

4) Number9Dream be better than Ghostwritten. so far.

5) WaI: You got raped? i thought you were a virgin? heh. and well.... ok... is it a girl or a guy that got raped? Cos without a face... sounds like a guy. Or a transvestite. i dunno. I haven't heard a transvestite speak before tho. You weren't go for angst anymore you said. SOS was dreary and too gloomy or something. And this isn't angsty? A tale of false revenge? A rape? I'm quite sure you can make it quite humourous, this... erm... doctor delievering her sentence, but otherwise... well, kinda anti-thesis to what you were seeking wasn't it? Still, all in all, something to chew upon, and you might want to try it anyway.

6) Trek movie attempt? With a calculator? Yangbin looks... haha. nevermind.

7) I'll go back upon the matrix thing once again. The words don't make sense cos they were written at fever pitch. If the syntax is right.

8) Upcoming trek SERIES??? SERIES? OMG... this is the only trek series i want to watch. Now, if Blalock didn't get that lousy costume and ears...

9) why I replied: cos, seriously, inasmuch you expect to know you... you should know us too. And knowing me, the moment I feel that there's something close to my heart that's been unjustly dealt with, be it friendship or an affront to basically anything I hold dear, and, well, I'm a burning fuse. Not that I expect to have to exp... GAH. you know what I mean. And I'm sorry for flaring up. Somehow my old anger has been flaring up again recently. Must be job stress. Still it wasn't as bad as before. I have anger management issues. But pete, you DON'T have to say sorry, for that's what you felt, whining or not. We all have to whine once in a while. At least it's over.

10) I'm saying we don't involve morpheus in the dream story. We might be fanboys, but let's create our own worlds.

11) comment? huh? wah?

12) Caffiene... but seriously, at least you can TAKE coffee. Sam can't. She'll be like the energizer bunny on heroin cut with drano. And then filled with caffiene and an adrenaline rush. It's not a fun thing, and losing control of your body like that, it's just not funny. It's not the same as alcohol.

313) The story: boiling.

- pete's more or less got it. I'm not sure if I got my terms right, I didn't write the book on dreams, but basically it's the period of REM when you can see your dreams, and then slightly after that, where you assume dream control, without being awake, even tho you might know you are still asleep. Is that lucidity? Throw in other sleep related events like eyes wide open but body unmoving (that's UNNERVING), somnambulism, and sleeplessness you get a whole... shebang.

- pete's more or less on the dot... but when I used "the dream is always the same" i was talking about Final Fantasy haha.... Aki Ross said that. Anyway, basically, one day the guy realises not only does he actually have dream control, and can affect the dreams, but (sorry, this whole part is iffy) he's actually also dreaming the dreams of other people. So, in that case, each dream (lasting a few pages) he meets someone he knows, and he's in that person's dream, affecting it, but that person doesn't know. How this happens is also cos he's so affected by this (which was in turn triggered by a bout of insomnia) that every time he sleeps, no matter what time, he plunges straight into REM, first a watcher, then a doer (it's falling apart). And slowly he realises that in those dreams, if he does nothing, or fails to do the right things, the person will die or fart very loudly the next week/day. Imagine him just about to save the person when he wakes up. now that's painful. but the dreams can continue a few days until it reaches it's penultimate climatic scene. he knows he doesn't like it but he has to do something. So basically pete's got it right. or imagine if he's about to return to the dream, and he's in REM, but in black space... the guy on the other side has suddenly developed insomnia... and now he can't save him. Or narcolepsy.

- either that or we can do something else (realise that this idea has prob been done before anyway, but) which involves him going from realm to realm (kinda like the dreaming) solving conundrums and saving people. BUT the twist is that the realms he visits are those which we are familiar with. Rondua (me and wwl) , the trek universe (wwl and pete), wrestling (me and pete) , even the dreamin (should be the 3 of us?)... anything. And he adventures, seeing new sights, new wonders, that his real life is affected for he can't wait to go back to sleep. Imagine if he develops insomnia again.

- it's all really iffy but... I realise the matrix thing is forgotten. hmz... so maybe his dreams ARE the real world, and he's just stuck here. In his dreams, everything is fantastical, but the people are all those he knows, those that also live on earth. I mean, we do see strangers in our own sleep, but sometimes, more often than not, we also have real, VERY real situations. Who's not to say the dream isn't dreaming us? This is closest to my original idea... but it's harder to execute.

- ah... any one of the 3, or somesort of almagamation? then we can have the triple blog thing that might even double as a dream diary? haha.

signing off.

Chong: Really? Link worked fine here on I-Net computer. Wasn't meant for you guys to see, but this was the only place I could put it relatively safely. Yes, it's a first attempt at blue (in this case, green) screen for an upcoming Trek series.

WL: Thanks for the disclaimer. Really. It would have been much harder to swallow without that pinch of salt. (Especially since you of all people would recognise whining when you see it).

What did I think you'd say? Nothing. Really. God knows you two are my most faithful readers but I thought you'd be out of character and not say anything this time... because it's nothing new to you. Heck. It's nothing new to En ... *heh* but she never comments at all.

But I've been a jerk, and I apologise. Shouldn't have arrowed the two of you. Sorry.

You know... as for the short story... how does the subject of the story know the convicted guy was innocent? And how does he/she/it know that the image outside the window isn't a spiritual manifestation of the "innocent" man? God, I have to stop researching vampires.

Matrix story: Seems possible. Not sure if I have the ability to work a whole story around it.

Guy gets dreams... Each dream is about the same thing. Every dream reveals something new. Slowly he becomes less of an observer, and more of a manipulator. He can affect the outcome of his dream. Changes it, modifies it, tweaks it. Dream is finally dragged to the end. Guy thinks he's done. Then (New Chapter perhaps) he starts dreaming a new dream. It's not his dream. He doesn't recognise the people. The dreamer is a maniac. Guy has to tweak the dream to prevent the guy from doing something major (cough at other people, bomb the White House, rule a nation, dominate the world, etc.). Guy slowly realises it's not a coincidence. It's a duty. A mission. He's a constable in the realm of Morpheus. But is he willing to lead this double life? Especially when the next dream involves someone close to him?

Pete: had to niggle the link a little to make it work properly.

And that's the freakiest piece of existentialism and post modernism I've ever seen.

WTH does it mean?

-------------------------------------------
matrix style.
lucidity-dream control
short moments of, not all know.
someone trying to take over.
guy has dreams, always meeting the same people, someone morpheus style? girl of his dreams blah blah...
is she the villian?

silent lucidity, dream control.

"The dream is always the same..."

------------------------------------------

something that came to my head, and therefore made my palm useful. what say?

Peter Link - Always knew Joseph Yeo would come back and haunt me one day.

page is up.

1) time for new quick story!

2) I suggest gay boy! so wwl can draw!

3) and lotsa well toned butch girls!

something like that. pete, any ideas?

basically we want something that's short, ongoing, is lighthearted at least in some areas instead of being constantly angsty.

how?

   Tuesday, April 08, 2003
I guess it's okay....... Well, technically, since it's the sun, Ben should be darker.... But we can always make it the moon. *heh*

or did i remind?

http://netprinted.com/

in case you all didn't know. And yes, there's a tribute to us, and in a sense a bday gift for me, hidden in the midst of it all. Take a close look.

hmz... i'm reading number9dream by David Mitchell...

and it's really really fantastic. What disturbs, however, is that he mentions Haruki Murakami in the book itself. ARGH!!!!!
